Hardware Engineer
Summary:
Conducts product research leading to new or improved products to maintain the company’s competitive position and profitability. Creates products based on specifications developed in conjunction with customer application experts from other departments within the company.
Designs, develops, modifies, tests and evaluates cryptographic systems, hardware components, circuit boards, interfacing hardware devices, and/or processes. Develops definitions, trade-offs and designs activities. Analyzes requirements to ensure intended functionality, operation, security and performance requirements are achieved. Plans, conducts, technically directs and coordinates the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Recommends corrections in technical application and analysis.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline.
Experience:
• 4-6 years of applicable hardware design engineering
• Must be a U. S. Citizen
• ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Skills:
Good organizational, decision making and communication skills

| Responsibilities: |
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for high-speed, high-density, uP board. Duties include architecture definition, schematic capture in ORCAD or equivalent schematic capture tool, BOM generation, layout and PCB stack-up generation and understanding of signal integrity issues, worst case timing and power analyses, design for manufacturing and testability, board bring-up using test equipment and ICE debugging tools, release to production, and documentation.
Have experience in FPGA/CPLD design development using VHDL, current FPGA/CPLD technology, and Modelsim or equivalent verification tool. Expertise with prior design experience in the areas of cryptography, communication, networking, microprocessor-based design particularly ARM processor family, and mixed-signal circuit design, are highly desired.
